OCTOBER 2025
New Publication in Med. Chem. Res.
Alongside a larger collaborative group from University of Florida, we report a new paper in Medicinal Chemistry Research describing "Synthesis of simplified didehydro-cortistatin A derivatives as anti-proliferative agents". Here, we contributed to molecular modeling of the new cortistain A analogs. Congrats to everyone involved!
Rocky Mountain ACS Conference
Dr. Ferracane attends the ACS Rocky Mountain Regional Meeting to present work on the structure and opioid activity of cyclic tetrapeptides.
AUGUST 2025
NOBCChE 2025 Conference
Bijan attends the NOBCChE 2025 Conference to present ongoing work investigating the structure of cyclic tetrapeptides. Thanks to NOBCChE and the Chemistry & Biochemistry Department for supporting Bijan and this travel!
New Group MembersĀ
William Yujuico and Jack Zhao join the group. Welcome to the group everyone!
JULY 2025
Lab Move
The Ferracane Lab has relocated into new lab space at CSUF. Pictures coming soon!
JUNE 2025
APS 2025 Conference
The Ferracane Lab attends the 2025 American Peptide Symposium in San Diego! Jian, Ashley, Nikki, Bijan, Ronald, Rafy, and Dr. Ferracane presented a total of four posters during the meeting. We also took time to explore Sea World, Little Italy, and Liberty Public Market and celebrate a birthday. Thanks to the conference organizers for helping to support our attendance. Congrats to everyone on an eventful meeting!
APRIL 2025
RSCA Grant
The Ferracane Lab is awarded a 2025-2026 Research, Scholarship, and Creative Activity (RSCA) grant from CSUF to support investigation of bacterial glycoproteases!
Titan Supercomputing Center Grant
The Ferracane Lab is awarded a grant from the Titan Supercomputing Center 2025 Summer Research Program at CSUF. This grant will support computational modeling of cyclic peptides!
MARCH 2025
ACS Spring 2025
The Ferracane Lab attends the ACS National Meeting in San Diego! Giselle, Diana, Manuel, and Dr. Ferracane all presented ongoing work with opioid cyclic peptides and development of glycoprotease ligands. It was great to share our science and to meet up with old colleagues and an alumnus from the lab!
